How to Start a New Third Party


The process of starting a new third party is expensive and time consuming.  However, the opportunity cost of not having the "More Perfect Union" Party is far greater.



The Federal Election Commission (FEC) in Washington D.C. is an independent regulatory agency.  Its duties are to disclose campaign finance information, to enforce the provisions of the law such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and to oversee the public funding of Presidential elections.

Requirements to get on the ballot:
  • Filing Fees.
  • Signature Requirements.  Some states are up to 5% of the population.

Officers necessary to form the "More Perfect Union" Party:
  • Chairman
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Vice Chair
